The weather was unusual for Blackbeard at the end of August, pleasant, truly pleasant. Moderate winds and temperatures made for perfect conditions. That said, the competition was close with several lead changes per race that were only settled on the final run and or the reach to the finish. The regatta itself came down to the timing for the jibe on the final leg; a few seconds equaled a few boat lengths, with all 5 boats finishing in the same minute. It was an amazing weekend of racing.
